IT Project Portfolio Manager

Responsibilities:
The IT Project Portfolio Manager will be responsible for portfolio oversight, management, and delivery of all investment related activities within the assigned portfolio, selection, prioritization and integrated delivery roadmap.

Candidate will represent the project portfolio to IT leadership to ensure that project review, selection and delivery are strategically aligned with the Global IT Roadmap. This role will guide the project resources while guaranteeing process and procedure compliance and ensure that high priority continuous improvement ideas are represented to IT management.

• Managing Portfolio Services Demand

o Managing intake of new project/program requests - Documenting (ensuring input into portfolio management system) and evaluating/aligning projects for inclusion in the management system), categorizing (ensuring completion of key project criteria) and
evaluating/aligning projects for inclusion in the portfolio
o Ensuring that data is available and accurate so leaders can make decisions on what work to
prioritize as part of annual financial planning and throughout the year across IT and the client’s organization
o Measuring, ranking, and aligning projects to provide optimal value and to ensure that portfolios are aligned to the client’s operating model/strategic objectives and business
strategies
o Managing escalations and midcycle requests for changes to portfolio composition
o Monitoring, reporting, and updating month-over-month prioritization and when strategic
changes occur in the portfolio
o Stakeholder management in selection/prioritization process
o Engaging IT to provide accurate upfront estimates of project effort/cost
o Engaging resources–PM, BA, IT, etc. to deliver projects/programs within portfolio

• Portfolio Management, Monitoring and Control

o Monitoring performance of IT portfolio–scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and issue
management using standardized methodology, reporting, metrics
o Identifying, resolving/escalating issues within portfolio, reallocating resources,
advocating changes when needed to re-scope, cancel, or introduce new projects
o Monitoring and reporting all IT portfolio health - milestones, description of all
impacts of potential changes; picking up on leading indicators of issues; and communicating
effectively, broadly, up, down and across the organization
o Ensuring that the portfolio accomplishes and reports its value goals, including quantifiable
hard and soft benefits, in a consistent, reliable, and timely manner
o Providing input on quarterly full portfolio review as part of Operating Model– Quarterly Function Review
o Allocating resources to the portfolio component project/programs
o Providing leadership to Program/Project Management resources to ensure alignment to project methodology and processes, including tracking in project portfolio management
system (data integrity for decision making and scope, schedule, cost)
