Monument was a young specialty chemical company built from acquisitions. The owner and CEO was looking for a partner to help her develop the management processes for strategy and acquisitions, and really understand the markets and product lines that they had acquired. The business group EVP took on additional responsibility for the Solvents portfolio, and needed help to re-organize the global management structure to match the rest of his division. It was an interesting challenge, but he knew that I understood the structure, and could work across global cultures to get this done quickly and effectively. Result: 3 years of record profit

Implemented a new global mgt structure to replace a regional one - increase profits by globally optimizing mfg and logistics asset use. P/L resp. for a ~$450MM/yr high-growth, high-margin specialty products. Ranged from industrial commodities to industrial specialties and active pharma ingredients. Built & led processes for strat. planning, bus. plan execution, product mix and pricing by leading teams within a matrix-style org. Developed global “asset strategy” for capital investments.

This business was supporting downstream plants all over the world from a single large manufacturing site in Houston. They created the Strategy Director role to figure out a more sustainable plan for supplying the downstream businesses throughout the world. Developed and neg'd $700MM manufacturing JV in Saudi Arabia
