Give Good UX (Twofold LLC) Design
Independent UX Consultant, Coach, Author + Speaker
06/2010 - Present
Product design and development is messy, it’s unpredictable and there is never enough time, money or people to get it done.

So I work with clients in a consultative fashion to first remove obstacles to organizational or product success – in other words, figure out where and why the user experience is failing. How bad and how often and how to fix it.

From there, it's all about helping — and teaching — their teams to innovate, ideate and create great things that deliver value.

Consumable Science Design
Virtual Chief Experience Officer (CXO)
03/2012 - 03/2015
In addition to my consulting work with clients, I served Consumable Science as "Virtual CXO," collaborating with a brilliant team of doctors, scientists and engineers at Johns Hopkins to build a truly unique product based on biometrics that had the potential to revolutionize multiple aspects of healthcare.

The product was a clinical health score, similar to a credit score, that gives you a roadmap to good health based on biometric data and lifestyle choices.

Mind Over Machines Design
Chief UX Architect
01/2010 - 08/2012
I helped Mind Over Machines grow a new roster of commercial clients by pitching and winning new business — to the tune of an additional $5M a year. I helped those clients (1) identify user-experienced related obstacles to success in their products and services and (2) design better experiences to reinvigorate those offerings.

Natoli Design Group Design
CEO + Design Evangelist
02/1999 - 12/2007
I founded Natoli Design Group in 1999 during the infancy of the Internet to serve as an "Experience Design" company focusing on web-based SAAS products, as well as commercial public and private websites, e-commerce and Intranet systems. The work we did was at the crossroads of visual communication, brand design and customer experience for a variety of clients in the Retail, Healthcare and Financial Services industries, along with several US Government Agencies.

Doner / Doner Direct Design
Senior Digital Production Manager
03/1995 - 01/1999
I was recruited by Doner (one of the largest ad agencies in the world at the time to help develop a new department from the ground up. Digital Production was the link between the agency's Art Directors and the new technologies that were exploding around print design, pre-press, production and printing around that time. I was really interested in the nuts and bolts of the production process (always have been) and relished the opportunity to build something from square one.

Siquis, Ltd Design
Associate Art Director
01/1993 - 02/1995
Siquis was my first shot at playing Art Director in a boutique design firm/ad agency. The company was filled to the brim with A-list designers, and it was amazing company to be in. I served some of the biggest retail brands in the world, such as Woolrich, Cole-Haan, STX Lacrosse, Discus Athletic and others.

MGRE, Inc Design
Associate Art Director
01/1991 - 01/1993
I worked in-house in the design department of what was, at the time, one of the largest clothing retailers in the world. We designed everything from in-store signage to brochures, catalogs and print ads to radio and TV spots for more than a dozen individual sub-brand stores across thousands of stores in 30 states across the U.S.

Argenas Downey & Associates Design
Designer
03/1989 - 01/1991
My first job as a designer. I had worked at AD as an intern previously, and they were kind enough to hire me on. I got immeasurable on-the-job training, direct access to clients and customers across multiple industries, designing everything from logos to ads to catalogs, brochures and point-of-purchase displays.
