NextiraOne was a data and communications services business, sponsored by private equity, with revenues of €900m and 4,700 employees in 16 European countries. Restructured unprofitable businesses, redirected the group strategy, and sold all the operating businesses.

Masterplan was a Los Angeles-based services company for medical imaging equipment, operating in 36 states. In 18 months, increased profits by 25% and then sold the business for a significant return to the private equity sponsor.

Recruited by KKR to lead Tenovis, a Frankfurt-based Telecoms equipment and services business, with revenues of €950m and 6,000 employees in ten European countries. Within three years, turned around loss-making business and sold it to an industrial buyer (Avaya) at a substantial profit for KKR. Subsequently recruited by Avaya to lead the effective integration of merged $1.5b Avaya and Tenovis operations in Europe.

Grew this private equity-backed data center services business rapidly across Europe, helping US-based start-up company sell for $b+ price to listed NASDAQ company.

As General Manager of IBM’s Personal Computer division in EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, and Africa), built a new management team, cut costs, and gained market share. In the newly created role of VP Marketing for all IBM divisions in EMEA, consolidated the team and repositioned IBM’s brand in Europe. Then managed the fast-growing Financial Services sector of IBM Global Services in EMEA.

Following six months in HQ in New York, took on role as President of American Express Bank in France. Turned around unprofitable banking operations, and launched hugely successful Consumer Financial Services business, combining Bank assets with Card marketing skills.

Based first in Boston and then Munich; managed strategy consulting projects for global companies in multiple industries, including automotive, nuclear energy, healthcare, paper, and hospitality.
